Did I find a desk? No.
Have you ever gone looking for a desk on New Years weekend?
Don't. Major mistake. But, I did get my office all moved, all my books unpacked and new office nicely organized and looking pretty. I'm very happy.
And I accomplished the revisions of Forbidden Pleasure, the eight Bound Hearts books, the first though from St. Martins. Forbidden Pleasures releases in May and is currently on pre-order at Amazon.com.
I've taken this one from a bit of a different stand point. It's full length rather than a novella, so I added the suspense of my F.B.I. hero and a case that has followed him from Virginia to North Carolina where he moved with his new wife three years before because of the temptation the Club represented to his new marriage. His wife had no idea how enmeshed he was in the menage lifestyle of the club and he feared risking the life he wanted with her.
John 'Mac' McCoy and his wife Keiley have settled nicely into marriage, but there's a frustration, a shadow on their marriage that is never spoken of, until now. When Keiley begins to wonder if her husband is missing what he had before their marriage.
Forbidden Pleasure is the first of three Bound Hearts contracted for St. Martins. I hope you enjoy it.
And now, my next project is revisions on the next Navy SEAL suspense novel, also for St. Martins. I begin that tomorrow. The revisions are pretty extensive and I have two weeks to complete them. Wish me luck. I'm going to need it to keep this schedule.
And be watching. SOON. SOON. February 6, 2006 the release of DANGEROUS GAMES from St. Martins, the first full length Navy SEAL novel. I'm really excited about the release of this book. Clint is one of the hardest heroes in some ways, that I've written.
Releasing with it is the novella For Maggies Sake in the anthology REAL MEN DO IT BETTER. For Maggies Sake is the third installment in the SEALs book, taken from a minor character from DANGEROUS GAMES. Joe Merino. I hope you enjoy them.
And now, back to the computer and the voices in my head. Let's hope they talk loud enough to finish these revisions on time. LOL

I am arranging my office in a new room, so I had to dismantle my computer. I have been looking forward to giving you a taste of what I'm working on, but I am having a difficult time getting internet set up. It should be early next week for me to be back online.
Until then, Happy New Year! Love to you all!

I just heard from the vet.
The vet you ask? Yes, the vet.
My husband got me a beautiful Pomeranian puppy, about three months old, just before Christmas. He was one of my presents. I named him Cato, but I often call him little bear. Though, honestly, he looks like a little fox.
Little Bear is much too curious though. And he seems to forget that he's much too big to wrangle larger dogs.
We have a sheppard we keep on a run behind the house because she's just about uncontrollable. She likes to tear things up. Today, when my son went to feed her, he forgot that he had let the puppy out. And though little Bear won't go up around the sheppared on his own, he will if anyone else is there.
Before my son, Bret could stop him, he charged up the hill right into the sheppards path, and she attacked him.
Simi, my Sheppared, has never been a mean dog, and she's never fought other dogs, but she's decided she doesn't like Cato.
She grabbed him and before Bret could get her to release him she had placed two punctures in Cato's side.
We had to rush him to the vet where they're keeping him overnight. The punctures weren't bad the Vet said, but he's very concerned at the soreness in Cato's stomach and wants to make certain the spleen hadn't been ruptured and that there was no internal bleeding.
I miss my puppy. Several times tonight I've caught myself calling for him, wondering where that little ball of furry energy was and what he was getting into.
The vet is positive he's going to be okay, and his call was to reassure me that everything was going fine and I should be able to pick him up tomorrow.
It will be good to have him back home yapping at my feet and demanding that I play with him.
And now, I'm back to my revision. No rest for the wicked my hubby says. *snort* I say that's him, it shouldn't be me. LOL
Goodnight, sweet dreams. And uhhh, you might want to check back in a day or two for a little excerpt or two. I'm pulling a few things out to post that I think you might enjoy.

Christmas has passed and I find myself exhausted. I also find that I've not updated the blog in weeks. *sigh* I'm going to do better. I now have a note on my desk to remind me to update daily.
It's been a wild month. With shopping, family, and trying to fit deadlines in with the Holiday Season I've found myself stretching my ability to keep up. But I think I see light at the end of the tunnel. At least, I hope I have.
We have several things coming in January. Be sure to sign into the newsletter, Sensuous Escapes http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SensuousEscapes/ to be certain to get the new upcoming issues on the making of the book trailer for Dangerous Games. And coming to the website soon, will be the first of three trailers we'll be uploading in January for the new book. You're going to love these. I know I did.
Dangerous Games, the second installment of the Tempting SEALs series from St. Martins. You met the heroine Morganna in Honk If You Love Real Men, in the novella Reno's Chance. Also coming in February 2007 is the anthology Real Men Do It Better, the novella For Maggies Sake.
There's a lot of information upcoming on other projects and releases as well. I'm currently preparing the revisions for Forbidden Pleasures, the first full length novel in the Bound Hearts series for St. Martins.
I've recieved several emails asking me about the heat level of this series since its moving from Elloras Cave to St. Martins. The heat level is just as intense, though hopefully you will find that the development of characters and plot is just as indepth. I'm enjoying this project and I'm learning a lot working on it.
Those revisions should be mailed into the editor tomorrow and then I'll be working on edits for Hidden' Agenda's the fourth book in the SEALs series. I'm loving me some SEALs right now. LOL
If you haven't picked up the newest Elloras Cave print release in the Bound Hearts, the two novellas Wicked Intent and Sacrifice in the Wicked Sacrifice print, you can now purchase that at www.dreamsbynight.com Harmony's Way is now available there in autraphed print as well.
And now, farewell till hopefully tomorrow. I'm off and running and back to writing. I hope your Christmas was merry and bright, filled with warmth, good cheer and love. And I hope in these few days before we gear up for the New Year, that you find lots of great books to read, and many heroes to love.

A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM DREAMS BY NIGHT www.dreamsbynight.com
Due to popular request, Dreams By Night has decided to become a general website rather than adult oriented. What does this mean for you, the reader?
It means you will be able to access the site from any computer, at work, at home, the library etc. Dreams By Night was originally invisioned for readers who had trouble finding the Lora Leigh titles, but many of those readers still can't get the titles because of adult site restrictions.
To that end, Dreams By Night will be carrying books ONLY.My books, and soon a few autographed titles from a few other authors as well and perhaps some merchandise such as coffee cups, etc at an affordable price. (I hate the expense of Cafe Press)
A lot of thought went into changing the Dreams By Night site, originally the site owner intended it to provide the reader not just with the books, but also the toys in one site. But many many readers can't access the books because of the adult labeling of the site. As the site owner said, there are many many sites where the toys are available. Finding the books are sometimes harder.
So, hopefully, by tomorrow morning, the adult labeling of the site will be gone, as well as the toys and the site will sell the books only. Hopefully, this will make it easier for those who are unable to find the books and can't access the Dreams By Night site.
And with that. Back to the menage scene I'm writing.Almost done. Almost done. Forbidden Pleasures goes into the editor tomorrow morning, first thing.Whew. Then, Nauti Nights, Dawg's story.

HARMONY'S WAY
Releasing December 5, 2006
Sequel to Megan's Mark
Blurb: Harmony Lancaster is of the Lion Breed, created to be a huntress with a thirst to kill. But the way she seeks justice outside the law makes her a liability to her own kind. Yet she also possesses information that they need on the existence of the First Leo-- who holds the precious secrets of desire.
To save her life, Harmony is paired with Sheriff Lance Jacobs, who tries to tame the killer within her, while protecting the gentle woman he longs to possess. But a dangerous cult leader, bent on destroying the Breeds, could change the way Lance looks at Harmony forever...
Excerpt:
“No second thoughts.” Her breathing was rougher now, her lips parting as Lance allowed his hands to settle on her bare waist, to feel the incredibly soft flesh beneath them.
The temptation of those lips was too much to deny. He lowered his head as her hands fluttered against his chest, the feel of them sinking past the cloth of his shirt as he fought to rein in his desire.
Just a kiss, he promised himself as he touched her lips with his. He was the sheriff, he couldn’t get caught necking in public. But one kiss surely wouldn’t hurt.
Or so he thought. Until her lips parted on a soft little gasp, and her tongue touched his. The subtle taste of honeysuckle was stronger here, sweet and clean as it fueled his hunger.
Lance felt her hands slide up his chest, move to his neck, then bury in his hair as a soft moan vibrated against his lips. He kissed her with soft greed, reminding himself each second that it could go no further. He could kiss her. Just a taste before the main course.
As his lips moved over hers he found his hunger for her surging, overtaking his common sense and his control. His hands slid beneath her top, stroking the satiny flesh until they filled with the firm mounds of her breasts. And she was arching to him, her soft cry muffled by his suddenly devouring lips.
His tongue pushed against hers, twined with it, drew it to his lips and suckled it into his own mouth as she arched against him.
She tasted like hot, needy sex. Like a temptress made for lust, built for endurance and pleasure. And if he wasn’t very, very careful he was going to end up fucking her right there in the parking lot.
“We’re getting in trouble here.” His hands slid from her breasts to her rear, gripping the snug curves and moving her against his thigh as his lips trailed over her jaw to her neck.
Lance nipped at the fragrant skin there as he felt the heated, cloth-covered curves of her pussy riding his thigh. She was panting for breath now, flushed, a soft dew of perspiration covering her skin.
“This isn’t natural.” Her voice was dazed, thick with need as he stroked his lips and tongue over her neck, heading for the valley of her breasts and the soft flesh he knew he would find there.
She was softer than any other woman he had ever touched. Sweeter. Hotter. And he was one second from ripping his jeans open, lifting her to the seat and fucking the hell out of her.
“I’m sure it is.” Lance licked at the dampness between her breasts, tasting honeysuckle there as well. Damn, he was developing a fondness for honeysuckle. If only the taste wasn’t so subtle. Then he could fill his senses with it, sate himself with the need for it.
He flexed his fingers in the curves of her ass as he helped her ride him, swearing he could feel the damp heat of her pussy searing him through her pants and his jeans.
“You taste as sweet as summer,” he growled. Her lips were at his forehead, pressing against him tentatively, causing him to pause in this frantic desperation to taste as much of her possible, returning to him a measure of control.
Her lips touched him with dreams. He could feel it in the soft breeze that wrapped around them, the whisper of confusion and lost dreams in the air at his ear.As though she had never willingly touched before.

Today has been a good day. Not only did I finish a very difficult chapter in the Forbidden Pleasure manuscript, but I got a call from my editor.
St. Martins has asked me to do an anthology with Cherry Adair and Cindy Gerard set to release sometime in 2008.
These are two of my favorite authors and the chance to do this anthology with them is really exciting for me. Now I'm nervous too though. LOL
But, I'm sure you want to hear more about the Bound Hearts. Its progressing well, though some chapters are slower than others. I just passed the 25,000 word mark, about 125 pages and working my way into the loss of my hero's phenomenal control. For three years he's managed to hold back his dominance and extreme sexuality, but it's breaking free.
Talk about a man walking a tight rope.
I actually have fallen very much in love with Mac.
John 'Mac' McCoy. A former computer programmer turned farmer. (He hated the office) So he's taken over his father's large farm and he deals with horses, cattle and tractors instead. Yet, he's one of the most dominant males I think I've written and I'm loving getting to know him.
My heroine, Keiley, is strong, a bit shy, but he's met his match in her. She's of course having tons of fun breaking her husbands control, while never realizing what lies behind it.
Its going to be interesting to see her reaction I think. LOL
And that's all for tonight. It's time to try to finish another chapter before heading to bed.
And don't forget, this weekend you can find me at the Kingsport Times Women's Expo in Kingsport Tennessee. I'll be signing books with Mary Wine and several other wonderful authors. I hope you can find time to visit us. We'll be there in the wonderful costumes Mary makes, and she's promised me a new chemise. I can't wait to see it.
As always, wishing you lots of coffee, romance and good books to read. See you soon.

Forbidden Pleasure
Its begun. The first book to St. Martins in the continuation of the Bound Hearts series, Forbidden Pleasure.
What would you do if you suddenly learned your husband of three years was hiding parts of his sexuality. That the hunger you feel just under the surface, is more than just a forceful, lusty dominance. That he fantasized about sharing you with his best friend. That he fantasied so much about it, that the tension was now beginning to fray his precious self control?
Keiley McCoy is about to learn things about her husband, Mac that she never imagined. Things such as a habit he had for sharing his lovers with his best friend Jethro Riggs. Things such as his membership in an exclusive men's club created as a support group for men who crave sharing their women. Things that could destroy their marriage.
I've been excited to get started on this book. The Bound Hearts are always a challenge but this one especially raised such interesting questions for me regarding the characters that I've really been excited about it.
I hope you like it. I have to have it completed by the first of November, and so far, it's flowing very well.
As soon as I see that the plot is progressing and that there aren't going to be any restarts on it, then I'll see about sending an excerpt here.
And don't forget, Harmony's Way, the sequel to Megan's Mark releases December 5, 2006. You met Lance Jacobs in Megan's Mark, the sheriff of Broken Butte. He returns in Harmony's Way as the hero, and boy does he have some surprises for his Breed mate, Harmony Lancaster. But, she has some surprises for him as well.
Join me in the next book in the world of the Breeds. I hope you enjoy it.
Thank you for checking back with me on upcoming stories. I am trying to get in here and keep you updated on everything coming through. Until next time, I'm wishing you lots of coffee and plenty of good books to keep you warm during these cool fall nights.

Im late! I know. I've been completely overwhelmed. No sooner than I finished Hidden Agendas I had to go back and revise it. That book has caused me to lose hair. *pout* Kell was mean to me.
And because of Kell, I've neglected the Blog. But I am back again. And as an abject apology, there will be an excerpt of Harmony's Way posted below.
Don't forget the booksigning in Lexington Kentucky this week at Jo-Beth's Books with the KYRWA writers. We'll be there from 2:00 to 4:00 pm signing books. Its going to be a really fun event.
And remember the Kingsport Women's Expo the weekend of the 21st. I'll be there with Mary Wine and several other wonderful authors. Its an event you don't want to miss.
So, what am I working on now?
Many of you will be very pleased. I've begun work on the eighth Bound Hearts title, Forbidden Pleasure.
FORBIDDEN PLEASURE is the first of three Bound Hearts books that St. Martins Press acquired, but it begins with three new characters. The second and third books you will meet some older characters, especially Khalid from Shameless. I've already managed two chapters on FORBIDDEN PLEASURE and I'm really excited about the story unfolding. I hope you enjoy it. It will be a much longer and hopefully more intense story to add to the Bound Hearts collection.
And with that note, shall I give you an excerpt?

The next book in the Breed series.
Lance replaced the decrepit Raider with his own the next evening. Unfortunately, he came with it. To add insult to injury, he changed the schedule as well.
“If I’m going to stay up all damned night long, then I might as well be working,” he had snapped that morning when he informed her of the change.
As the call came in on a disturbance and fight at one of the more popular bars, she almost rubbed her hands in glee. She sat forward, straining against the seat belt as Lance raced toward the establishment.
She hadn’t had a good fight in months. Unfortunately, as the adrenaline began to race through her veins, the heat building in her body increased. The arousal was almost a narcotic in her blood as her skin sensitized and her nerve endings began to throb.
She was throwing the seat belt and jerking the door to the Raider open before the Raider had come to a complete stop. Ignoring Lance as he called out her name, she headed for the bar and the fight inside.
“Oh no you don’t.” He caught her arm, pulling her to a surprised stop as she stared up at him in shock.
“What?”
“Take their statements!” He had pointed imperiously toward the small crowd outside. “Now.”
“But the fight...” Oh God, she really needed to expend energy. She could feel the need cramping her stomach, building in her veins.
“Statements,” he had snarled, the look in his eyes causing her to hesitate. “Now.”
She snarled furiously, flashing her canines as the sound rumbled from her throat. Gripping her hand he slapped his notebook into it.
“Now.” That tone was primal, such a completely alpha sound that she was taken aback for a moment. “Right now.”
She took the statements, fuming at the injustice of it as he and the other deputies began clearing the bar.
“That was so not fair,” she snapped as he strode from the bar an hour later, a bruise forming at his temple as he dragged a raw-boned cowboy by his shirt collar to a waiting patrol car. “I could have helped.”
He grunted rudely.
“You wouldn’t have a black eye if you had let me help,” she retorted, her fist clenched around his mangled notebook. “I can’t believe you did this.”
She couldn’t believe she had blindly obeyed him like some submissive wimp that didn’t know how to fight back. She had never ever obeyed a man in her life. Why the hell was she starting now?
“Your attitude is starting to severely suck, Sheriff,” she informed him, trying not to look too deeply into the fact that she figuratively tucked her tail and obeyed.
“Did you get those statements?”
“Every last one,” she responded with false sweetness, glaring back at him as he met her gaze without the first sign of apology. “You should have let me in there.”
“Why?” he barked as he turned and led the way to the Raider. “So you could expend some of that energy raging through your body? I don’t think so. Get in the Raider.”
He jerked her door open as she stalked past him.
“That is just the most idiotic thing I’ve heard come out of your mouth,” she snapped after he had slammed her door closed and strode around to his own side. “I’m not a pet you can place in the corner and tell to sit.”
“That’s a dog.” He twisted the key in the ignition before pushing the Raider into gear. “Everyone knows cats don’t train worth shit.”

THE ENDING OF HIDDEN AGENDAS
FINALLY. I'm putting THE END on Hidden Agenda's sometime tonight I would expect. I have the last scene to write and then a little tweak here and then and its off.
*big sigh* This has been one of my harder books to write. I started it last May, went through about 40 different versions, and NO I am not joking over that.
The problem was, the title. Sometimes the idea in my head just doesn't suit a title, and once I realized what the problem was I was already more than 20 attempts into the book and I decided I was going to do this, with this title, one way or the other. Yeah, sometimes I'll cut my own nose to spite my face. LOL
I started this version, totally new version by the way, two days after Tanner's Scheme completed. I'd have to check dates on that, but maybe its been a month. Once I figured out how to twist the title, it got easier.
The challenges I'm facing in writing for Berkley and St. Martins have been exilerating. (Did I spell that right? LOL) I love it.
And I hope you enjoy Hidden Agenda's when it releases. Its the fourth book in the SEALs and OHHH do I have ideas on where to go when I finish the final two books. I'm jumping up and down I'm so excited over it.
Next up, after I finish this one, is the first St. Martins single title Bound Hearts. I've been itching to start this book as I've found a new perspective step into. The heroes and heroine have really been pushing at me to get this started. I'll have more information for you once its started.
Until then, be watching the blog, as soon as Hidden Agenda's completes I'll be posting an excerpt.
And don't forget to read Reno's Chance in the Honk If You Love Real Men anthology, now available through amazon.com or wwww.dreamsbynight.com And coming in February is the second book, a single title Dangerous Games. Also in February is the third book in the series with a secondary character as the hero in the Real Men Do It Better Anthology, For Maggies Sake. FMS continues the SEALs fight against the Villian that you meet in Dangerous Games.
Thank you all for your support, your emails, and for putting up with me being absent from the loops etc. The schedule I'm on from this point to the end of the year will be even tougher, but your encouragement keeps me going. And most especially, thank you so much for enjoying my books so far.

I was sent a very interesting article, one I thought many of you might be interested in as well as readers on the erotica/erotic romance lines to be found on the shelves now.
http://dearauthor.com/wordpress/2006/09/18/what-ny-publishers-dont-get-about-romantica/#comments
The site allows you to comment as well and voice your opinions, which is always a good thing. I liked it, so thought you might as well.
And now I'm back to Hidden Agendas. FINALLY I think I have this book figured out. I'm on page 230, which is almost halfway and I'm now working hard to complete it. This is the fourth SEAL book.
The first being Reno's Chance in the Honk If You Love Real Men anthology, the second a single title from St. Martins, Dangerous Games, which is one of my HOTTEST books yet I think, and the third being the novella For Maggies Sake in the Real Men Do It Better anthology due out with Dangerous Games in Feb. 07
And now, back to work for me. I hope you are all finding wonderful books to read and lots of friends to share them with.

I didn't get to write a lot today. I found a plot error in Hidden Agenda's that needed to be worked on and I wanted to think about it before I changed it. I'll be starting on that tonight after dinner. I did make arrangements to head to Lake Cumberland tomorrow though. I want to do some more research on the area and get some pictures for the next Nauti book, Nauti Nights. I have the idea fairly planted in my head but I need to see the area to see how its going to work. So we're off on a research trip tomorrow. Which will be fun. I've been putting in a lot of long hours on refinining the plot for Hidden Agendas and getting it moving so it will be a nice break I think.
Be watching the website, we're going to have an excerpt of Harmony's Way up there sometime next week. I'm really excited about the release of this book. Harmony was just special. A female Lion Breed with some interesting issues. And Lance. I feel in love with Lance. Im hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it, even if Lance did make me pull hair out. He was stubborn too.

SLAVE TO SENSATION by NALINI SINGH
Have you read Slave of Sensation by Nalini Singh?
If you haven't, then get it now! Its an incredible unique story filled with passion, love, gentleness and an emotion you don't want to miss. This was one of the most emotional and passionate books I've read in a while. I can't wait to read the next one in the series. Wonder if I could talk her out of an early read? Hmm, its worth considering. I could see me loving the next one too. LMAO
Now, back to my work in progress. *sigh* I'm gonna shoot my hero with his own gun, he's being totally stubborn.

I've decided, my husband is just ornery.
Here I am, just typing my little fingers to the
bone, working on my next book due when he informs
me, with no shame whatsoever, that he's neglected.
*rolling eyes* Neglected I ask him? How are you
neglected?
So he pulls me out of the office and into the bedroom
so I can......
No, not THAT. So I can listen to him play his guitar. LMAO
He's so neglected. LOL. He's such a man! He needed an
audience. LOL
But, I'm back to my desk. I had to go grocery shopping today for hamburger and chicken. Couldn't decide if I wanted fried chicken or meatloaf for dinner. I guess I settled on meatloaf. LOL
So now that I've decided, I can go back to work on the next Navy SEAL book, Hidden Agendas. Kell, my hero, has been so stubborn. Hopefully I have a handle on him now though. He's so into his heroine and yet so determined to save her from loving him, that sometimes, Ive wanted to pull my own hair out.
How could I create such a stubborn man.
Then I remember, I married such a man. *sigh*
So, this is today's update. LOL. It's not much I know
and until I KNOW this is going to work out, I really don't want to say much.
Remember to visit the forum when you get a chance.
Go to www.loraleigh.com click on chat and schedule, scroll down just a bit and there is the button link to the forum. The ladies there have some great times, and I often randomly choose names from the posters for surprise gifts.
Have a great day. I hope you're finding wonderful books to read and that the summer has been a wonderful one. Until later...

Good Morning.
I want to thank everyone who attended the booksigning at Radcliff Kentucky yesterday, and I want to especially thank J.R. Ward for inviting me along. We had a wonderful time. J.R. is so sweet and as always, so funny, with the ability to make everyone feel welcome and well loved. She's not just a wonderful writer, but a truly wonderful person. Be watching the website for new of our return to The Bookstore in Radcliff in March. We'll be signing there again then. I'll have that up on the site soon.
Be watching as well for information on the booksigning at Jo-Beth's books in Lexington next month, as well for the Women's Expo in Kingsport Tennessee.
Writing has been going good the last month. I wanted to get a good start on Hidden Agendas and make certain it was going to work out before I began the updates. I think I have it though. I have 138 pages but I'll be a couple of days getting back to it. I'm finishing up copy edits at present on For Maggies Sake, a novella related to my SEAL's series that releases in February. You meet the hero Joe, in Dangerous Games. Both release in February. I've very excited about the release of this new series. The SEALs are stubborn, arrogant, and they've made writing their stories an adventure in the many ways you are NOT allowed to strangled the characters in your imagination. LOL
Its an adventure, but a learning one. I'll see about posting a short excerpt soon.
Thank you all for sticking with me, for your emails and all your encouragement. Be watching the newsletter Sensuous Escapes as well, for pictures of this weekends booksigning. Special thanks to Brenda for taking those pictures for me. I truly appreciate it.

There's not much to update tonight.
Hidden' Agenda's, so far, is doing well. I'm on page 77 but I had to go to Wal Mart today and we have to clean and freeze corn. Fresh corn on the cob is so good in the middle of winter. LOL
It will be a few days before I update again, I want to make certain Hidden Agenda's is working out well before I post. I restarted the beginning, i think the ending is pretty much finished, but the beginning and middle needs revision and work. Im hoping to finish it by the 9th, but I expect it to be more like the 13th or 15th. I'm praying no later than that. But within a few days I'll update again and perhaps post a short excerpt. Also coming soon are excepts for Harmony's Way and Dangerous Games, now on pre-order at www.amazon.com I'm really excited about the coming release of these books and I hope you enjoy them.
And now, I think its bedtime for me.
Good night and pleasant dreams.
